Youth of God (YOG)
Vision Statement: “Reaching Youth by leading them to Christ through sharing and teaching the Love of God and living the way God wants us to!“
The Youth Group at VOHMCC is open to all youth from the ages of 12-18. We are intentional in reaching out to all youth and we currently have a paid staff position and volunteer positions to minister to our youth and children. We believe that Youth and Children are the Church and not just the future of the church. We minister to gay, straight, transgender, bisexual, and questioning within our local community. Our goal is to encourage our Youth to participate in community and fellowship to develop lasting friendships so that they can share teenage struggles with one another.
As well, we encourage the growth and development of our youth into a relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible Study and group-building activities. Our youth are currently involved in ministry within worship, Sunday school, adopt-a- highway, and cleaning of the church.
Our youth group is a place to share in the daily struggles and joys of being a teenager in the world today. We do not have limitations as to who belongs in our family of believers. All you have to be is looking for a place to meet new people and desire to share in your life journey. In fact, you do not have to know anything about God, Jesus Christ or Church because we will provide that foundation for you. If you are already in a relationship with Jesus Christ, we encourage you to attend as well to deepen your relationship and help other youth.
