Social Justice

The Social Justice Team at VOH focuses on issues that relate to our GLBT community, especially those that affect “families“ and “same-gender marriage.“

Our Team has presented programs to the community and to other church groups, when invited. We have a mission statement with goals and objectives. Plus, we have been working on ways to educate ourselves and the congregation on various social justice issues that impact our GLBT lives.

Our goal is to continue networking with other GLBT justice agencies and organizations. Also, we have initiated letter writing campaigns to our legislators and work to organize lobbying visits to State and Federal legislators for the purposes of education.

We believe that our Social Justice work is done in accordance with appropriate governing regulations. More importantly, we do this work in the spirit of Christ's compassion and unconditional love for all.
