Small Groups at VOH
Mission Statement: VOH’s Small Groups provide an environment for encouragement, support, community and spiritual formation by uniting people to come together to deepen our spiritual lives and be more like Jesus Christ, intentionally equipped as a Church “TO BE LED BY CHRIST, EMPOWERED TO ROCK THE WORLD!“
Vision Statement: Our heart’s desire is to be a church where nobody stands alone by building communities within communities so we might reach our community.
Because as we are “Led by Christ, empowered to ROCK the world!“ at VOH, we value community. In fact, in our VOHMCC Core Values the very first value says, “Striving to live in love in a healthy community.“ Our Mission Statement explains that we will do that by providing “communities within communities" or small groups.
In small groups we will be able to get to know one another better and be able to grow in faith. Our small groups have been a great and wonderful blessing and experience for VOH.
In 2004 / 2005 we followed the book, A Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Groups currently are using new inspirational resources to guide the group spiritual development. We have 14 groups with some 90+ people having joined. Each group is led by a Small Group Leader. Plus, 10 people graciously host small groups in their homes, while the rest of the groups meet at VOH. Some groups have been formed by geographical areas, so that everyone will have the opportunity to participate without driving back and forth to the church.
We are a church committed to living out our faith in a very proactive vision and mission. We encourage you to participate in what will be A LIFE-CHANGING ADVENTURE.
