Holy Week Revival
- 2010
During Holy Week, we have planned
each worship service as an opportunity for you to grow spiritually.
You are invited to think of this week as an opportunity for you
to have a spiritual revival.
We pray that you will journey with us as we travel to Jerusalem.
Palm Sunday - Sunday, March 28th
- 10am at Mountville
Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week. Come celebrate Jesus'
entrance into the city of Jerusalem through the use of creative
arts.
Worship begins in York at 4pm with Pastor David preaching. Pastor
Jen will be preaching in Reading at 7pm.
Maundy or Holy Thursday - Thursday, April
1st at 6:30 pm
Maundy is derived from the Latin 'mandatum,' which means commandment.
This service is designed for remembering the Lord's Supper and
the commandment given by Jesus as recorded in the gospel of John
Chapter 13: verse 34 which reads -
"A new commandment
I give you, that you love one another".
. We will begin at 6:30 pm with a simple meal followed by the
sharing of communion.
Our service will continue by walking through stages which represent
some of the significant event based on the last hours of the life
of Christ.
We will conclude the service with a time of praise and prayer.
Good Friday, - April 2nd at 7pm Service of Tenebrae at Mountville
A service of readings and reflections as we walk with Jesus on
that final journey to the cross.
Hear and experience the powerful stories from the Bible as told
by the four gospels.
The word 'tenebrae' is Latin for shadows. The purpose of the Tenebrae
service is to recreate the emotional aspects of the passion story
Saturday, Easter Vigil - April 3rd at
6pm at Mountville
Begin the celebration of resurrection with a service which reflects
on creation, remembers our baptism, and experiences the joy of
God's love witnessed before the world.
Easter Sunday - April 12th
Easter Sunday Sunrise Service - 6:00
am at Vision of Hope MCC in Mountville
We invite you to join the women at the tomb in the
early morning hours as they discover the amazing power of God.
Breakfast to follow service
Easter Services at 10am at Mountville
Following our 10 am service everyone is invited
to join our fabulous Easter dinner.
