About Vision of Hope MCC
Founded in 1980, Vision of Hope Metropolitan Community Church is an evangelical Christ-centered, community of faith. We are committed to bringing the "Good News" of God's grace and love to all of God's children. Vision of Hope MCC is located in the Mountville Borough of historic Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.LancasterCounty has a strong religious tradition and a conservative history. The call of Vision of Hope MCC is to be a voice which proclaims God's love for all people regardless of sexual orientation. Vision of Hope MCC is a member of the denomination known as the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches. Our founder, The Reverend Troy D. Perry held the first service in October of 1968. Since then, MCC has grown into a denomination of approximately 300 churches in 18 countries throughout the world. Worldwide membership surpassed 40,000 in early 2000. In many small communities, the Metropolitan Community Church is the only local lesbian, gay, and transgender-oriented organization.
